It’s Time to “Encounter” some Undead at the November Smackdown!

Happy Halloween to you, Pathfinders! It’s been a super busy October of gaming fun. I hope you got to enjoy at least one of the events that we had here in the League of Aroden area. Between Smackdown and Conclave, we also had Free RPG Day and a new FLGS opening where we ran games. Yesterday was the first Saturday I was home this month, so I used the time wisely to get a lot of stuff done so I could game a lot in November! That’s right! You know me, I’m always looking for people wanting to roll some d20s.

The November Smackdown continues on its regular schedule, the second Saturday of the month at Valhalla’s Gate in Columbia, Missouri. I am hoping to see some new players as well as some more returning players when we begin play on November 13th at 11:00 AM. The scenarios at 11 AM will be 2-09 The Seven Secrets of Dacilane (1-4) and 3-02 The East Hill Haunting (1-4). Our new Venture-Agent Janine Bolster will be running 2-09 in her first table as a Smackdown GM. I’ve sat in on some games she has ran in Quincy and she did great. She’s been a long time player and it’s great to have her willing to take on the responsibilities that come with the title of VA as well as slipping into the GM seat.

We have only scheduled one table for the 3:00 time slot as we have only been getting enough players for one table in that slot. If we need a second table, we will have one available, but for now, we are going to offer 1-11 Flames of Rebellion (1-4). I’ve been wanting to offer this table for a long, long time at Smackdown because I get to use my Warlock Tiles for most of the run. It has been a blast to run in the past and is very challenging as it is a dungeon crawl scenario and those always seem to have a twist in them. You can sign up for these tables at our Warhorn page as usual.

In some serious news, we want to wish our Venture-Lieutenant Bill McQuegge best wishes as he recovers from his heart attack which he experienced October 16th. Having experienced one myself, I can say these are events that are pretty traumatic and cause some serious life reflections. It definitely helps to have support from your friends as you adapt to a healthier lifestyle. Let’s keep Bill in our thoughts and prayers and look forward to seeing him at future Smackdowns!

I will make another post later about events taking place in the League of Aroden this month. We are entering the holiday period, so the Quincy lodge schedule changes. Plus I am working on a Black Friday event in Quincy for those of us who want to play games instead of shop. It’s a big slowdown from the hectic October we had.

I will post here and on the FaceBook pages when Guns & Gears along with Lost Omens: The Grand Bazaar gets sanctioned. I am expecting them to be sanctioned some time this week. But make sure they are before you bring a gunslinger or inventor to Smackdown just in case. Also, the Dark Archive playtest is over. Please submit your feedback to Paizo. We can’t play the psychic or thaumaturge again until they get published and sanctioned which should be early August of 2022. I do know two more Lost Omens books will be out in December and should not have any sanctioning issues. Those would be Lost Omens: Absalom, City of Lost Omens and Lost Omens: Monsters of Myth. Please be patient on shipping anything as stock is highly fluid due to the shipping issues we have right now. You can expect prices to go up too, again due to the shipping issues we are facing. That seems to be an industry wide trend right now.

The good news is that Paizo continues to turn out high quality products. They recognized the employees’ union and are committing to working with them on building a better company. I think things got a little heated there a bit but as the dust settles, we see everyone moving forward. Let’s hope it stays that way!

See you at Smackdown on November 13th!
