Setting Out on the Road to Quin Con 35 at the Absalom Lodge Conclave

It is time once again for our monthly Absalom Lodge Conclave this Saturday, April 23rd at Tri-States Games & Hobbies in Quincy, Illinois. If you’ve got the role-playing vice, they’ve got the dice! The Warhorn page is ready for you to sign up for your reserved seat at the tables right now! First tables fire up at noon and the second slot kicks off at 5 PM.

We have had a great time with the New Player Experience and Bring-A-Friend campaigns the last few months. I will get the totals for these programs and post them next month. I know we’ve handed out at least 20 Organized Play numbers at all three lodges and have seen some returning players as well. We have ran over 35 total tables in these three months which is quite astounding considering where we were at coming into January. We are now going to kick off the next phase of the year with the Road to Quin Con 35!

After a two-year absence due to the pandemic, Quin Con 35 will take place on July 15-17, 2022 in Quincy, Illinois at the Quincy Senior Center. In years past we had a pretty large presence at Quin Con with Pathfinder. This is often the last convention before Gen Con and has served as a great opportunity for players to level characters up for that con as well as GMs getting some more games in before they hit the big stage in Indianapolis. We here in the Absalom Lodge are going to use the next three months to build up characters for Quin Con and get some more experience for our GMs as well.

With that in mind, we are presenting you with some scenarios that have not been ran in Quincy before. The main table in the Noon slot is 2-09 The Seven Secrets of Daciline Academy and will be ran by GM Janine. This Pathfinder Society Scenario is designed for levels 1-4.

Dacilane Academy, located near the Grand Lodge, is a storied institution that sees to the education of many children of Pathfinders. However, the academy’s benefactor, J Dacilane, has recently heard rumors from his students of seven strange phenomena manifesting on campus. Despite his doubts that these are simply the imaginings of students raised on Pathfinder tales, J has called in a favor with the Pathfinder Society to investigate—both to put his students’ minds at ease and for the good learning opportunity a Society report about the school would provide. But are there more to these urban legends than meets the eye?

Our overflow table for this slot will be 2-21 In Pursuit of Water. We will only run this scenario if we need to, but based on the last several Conclaves, we will need to run it which is a great thing! This Pathfinder Society Scenario is designed for levels 1-4.

The Pathfinder Society sends the PCs to the Thuvian city of Aspenthar, where they learn that div-worshipping cultists have taken violent measures to secure the ancient keys to a mysterious site out in the desert. With one of the keys in their possession, the Pathfinders travel deep into the desert to find this site and stop the cultists from bringing their destructive plan to fruition.

In our second slot of the day at 5 PM, we are offering the first part of a two-part story arc, 1-16 The Perennial Crown: Part 1 – Opal of Bhopan. It is a Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–6 (subtiers 3–4 and 5–6). The second part will be offered at the May Conclave and is also a 3-6.

In part 1 of the two-part Perennial Crown adventure, the Pathfinders journey to the island of Bhopan for the first time in over four centuries! On the forested island where founding Pathfinder Selmius Foster met his demise, the PCs will meet the fey-descended Bhopanese people. Not all diplomatic negotiations take place in a stuffy meeting hall, however. In order to navigate the complex, fey-influenced customs of Bhopanese court and establish a relationship with the rulers of Bhopan, the PCs must find their way through a masquerade ball filled with complex dance steps and hidden agendas.

You can sign up for all of these scenarios at our Warhorn page right now! We recommend signing up for these tables in advance because that guarantees your seat at that table. Remember, the Absalom Lodge never charges players a fee for their seats at the table or the right to play in our games. Everyone is welcome! We always welcome new players and have pregenerated characters ready for them to use right off the bat!

Special Announcement Alert!

We have to move the date of our May Absalom Lodge Conclave. We usually meet on the 4th Saturday except for November and December due to the holidays. Well, this year we have another holiday hitting us which is Memorial Day. We are going to move the Absalom Lodge Conclave up one week to May 21st. We will still be at Tri-States and at the same slot times, just the different Saturday of the month. We will be back on the 4th Saturday for June. So, mark your calendars for May.

Be sure to check out the Conventions tab on the League of Aroden site which I just so conveniently bookmarked for you just now. There are several conventions coming up which you may be interested in.

It was at Quin Con 33 in 2018 that the challenge of launching the Absalom Lodge of Quincy was first made. I am happy to say that we have met that challenge and built upon it some. In fact, one of the challengers has just now become a Venture-Officer himself in the Absalom Lodge. The events of that Quin Con are still reverberating today! We will talk more about Quin Con 35 in a future post of its own! Just be aware that we will be focusing heavily on Season 3 of Pathfinder Society, Season 4 of Starfinder Society, and the newest scenarios of Starfinder Society will be the launching of Season 5 as well.
